The new Shashlik seasoning is designed for summer dishes, barbecues and outdoor dining, and contains a blend of spices, chilli, paprika, nutmeg and ginger, combined with rosemary and basil.

Kath Davies, new product development manager at EHL Ingredients, said: “With the World Cup taking place in Russia this summer, we anticipate that there will be an interest in foods from this part of the world. Meat processors and butchers can tap into the sporting celebration by experimenting with Russian ingredients and flavours and create themed dishes for supermarket shelves and foodservice outlets using our new Shashlik blend. Consumers are gearing up for the summer season, and with the warmer weather on its way, the nation will be dusting off barbecues.

“Pubs and diners would be wise to add a Russian dish to menus, while supermarkets can stock them in-store, during the tournament over June and July, especially during screenings of games. Our new Russian blend will enhance the traditional classics, such as grilled meat and vegetable dishes, as well as adding authentic Russian flavours to the mix.

“We always go the extra mile to ensure that our ingredients are sourced from quality suppliers with full traceability to the country of origin, assuring our customers that the product they are getting is 100% authentic.”

As well as the new Russian Shashlik seasoning, EHL stocks over 50 herb and spice blends from around the world, including vegan, organic and gluten-free variants.
